Mel’s Monday: Some Lovely Little Details

So ladies, how was your weekend?

Mine was somewhat uneventful in terms of getting out and doing anything fun, but I think it was very productive in terms of wedding planning.  While I didn’t buy anything or DIY anything like last weekend, I was able to just clear my wedding planning mind so we can begin moving full steam ahead as we inch closer to the 100 day countdown (yikes!).

In case you haven’t been following my tweets lately, then you may not know that I recently made the best decision EVER in my entire planning process! What is this best decision that has me sleeping like a baby at night??

The AMAZING wedding planning extraordinaire- Jacin {pronounced Jay-sin} Fitzgerald from the one and only, Lovely Little Details! Yup, that’s right girlfriends…the very talented Jacin will be joining me in Cabo this August as my destination wedding planner!

I’ve had a million thoughts and things out there to-do and to prep for but nothing really in order. As much I’ve enjoyed using planning tools like Wedding Wire, The Knot, my own gazillion different spreadsheets (oh yes, I am a spreadsheet junkie), and the local resort on-site wedding coordinator, I still didn’t feel like things were coming together. So while chatting with my equally fantastic Videographer, Steph from Bubblerock Studios (oh yea buddy- I got her and her talented hubby on the Creative Team too!) she offered the suggestion to 1) bring on a Wedding Planner since I was feeling like a scatterbrain and then 2) referred me to Jacin. Although I had no intentions of having a Wedding Planner like many other girls out there…I finally put a clamp on the tiny “I can do this all by myself” voices and attitude, sucked it up and said “I surrender!” and sooooo happy I did.

Since we are less than 3 1/2 months away from the big day, obviously I have a vision and a lot of details thought out, but many things have not been put into action yet and there is still so much more to do. Jacin has been like a dream come true, swooping in and picking up right where I’ve left off. She’s already had so many amazing ideas and ways to infuse all my previous themes, colors, and ideas together. It’s like she can totally see my vision, read my mind, and I have the confidence she will help make my wedding perfect! Oh and it makes it all the better that she’s a fellow Aquarius and we were born only 6 days apart! Cool, huh?

It’s truly been surreal thinking that both Jacin and Steph will be in Cabo this August but am soooo excited they’ll be there to help make my wedding day dreams come true and also get to celebrate with us as new friends. =)

Few other random thought’s this Monday:

• Wish this pollen would go away! My allergies are killing me. Seriously they are.
• Florida’s weather needs to make up it’s mind. Either be hot or cold already!
• Thankful to have one of the best future mother-in-laws. Mark’s stepmom gave me her “two cents” this weekend about all that is clouding my mind and going on in our lives these days that I really, really appreciated. I’m so grateful to have another “mom” who is willing to help walk me through both the challenging and exciting parts of life.
• Can’t wait for the next 2 weeks to fly by so I can go home (to Atlanta) to see my mama, sisters, and throw one of my besties the best baby shower ever!
