As I close out the 4th of July weekend, I thought it would be appropriate to mention one of the most fabulous favors I’ve been given at a wedding: a huge fireworks display. Not too long ago, my friends Matt and Corrine joined together in holy matrimony in the small picturesque town of Skaneateles, NY.  I have to say it was one of THE best wedding I’ve ever been a part of. A cathedral wedding, a lakeside reception, and the most memorable “thank you” to seal the night. Watching the sky light up with our own personal fireworks show was just the right touch; it was both memorable and enjoyable. And though it was clear that the brightest sparks were between the newlyweds, the beautiful shapes and colors that lit the sky was a fabulous treat for us all. Thanks Matt and Corinne for the memories and for allowing me to showcase a couple of moments from that night.

If you are looking for a way to light up your night, try a fireworks display.  No matter where your wedding will take place, there are plenty of wedding fireworks vendors all over the country. I’m sure your guests will enjoy it just as much as we did.  *signed TMJ*

Oceanside Bride WelcomeHello Followers of Oceanside Bride (OSB)! My name is Tiffany, and as you may have read a while back, I’m joining my good friend Meleesa in her blogging efforts for OSB. This partnership has been a long time coming, as we’ve always been creatively compatible and shared a passion for event planning. So, I’m extremely excited about this new endeavor. And, I’m particularly excited about being able to creatively explore one of fave subjects: weddings!

As a party/events planning enthusiast, I’ve always loved the in’s and out’s, the minute details, and creativity behind throwing an awe-inspiring soiree. My dream has always been to start my own business and specialize in themed parties and weddings. As a part-timer working at David’s Bridal, I’ve learn A LOT about the field, and it’s motivated me to delve even further into this engaging world (and it helps that I hope to be planning my own very soon *wink*).

When my time comes, I know I will join Meleesa in planning a destination wedding near a beautiful backdrop of natural scenery and water. (I love the water!) So, as I take to finding new topics, cute finds, fabu trends, and must-do ideas to catalogue as knowledge for my own biz and, hopefully, my own strut down the aisle, I will be sharing my discoveries with all of you. Feel free to comment and email me any questions about things you may be searching for in planning your own special day. ( I’m also a greeeeat researcher and shopper of low priced deals. ) I’d love to help other brides make their wedding dreams come true!

Thanks Mel for welcoming me on board. Here’s to a b-e-a-utiful partnership!

Happy Friday!

In celebration of the big World Cup kick-off in Johannesburg, South Africa, I couldn’t think of a better way to start the weekend than South Africa’s own destination wedding location of Cape Town!

Brides and grooms are traveling all over the world these days to take their vows and how stunning would a wedding be on the coast of this lovely country?

By the looks of these amazing photos captured by photographer, Christine Meintjes, this couple’s wedding day in Cape Town, South Africa was beyond unforgettable.

It seems marrying in South Africa is a growing trend among couples from the UK and Australia and I can certainly see why! It wouldn’t surprise me, with all the attention the country will gain by hosting this year’s World Cup games, if more U.S. couples start to consider taking their own vows on a small beach somewhere in South Africa themselves.  The Mediterranean climate and strikingly gorgeous landscape creates a perfect setting for a bride-to-be and her groom all year long!

Head on over to Christine’s website to see more of this couple’s wedding day! And to get a better glimpse of what this wonderful country has to offer, I’d encourage to browse through Christine’s other amazing photos.  The pictures she took on her trip to Botswana makes me wish I could teleport myself and be there now (with my own Mr. Oceanside).

Have a great weekend ladies!

So I’ve taken about a 3 month hiatus from The Oceanside Bride blog for more reasons than one.  I think I mentioned in a earlier posts (earlier being back in November) that my fiancé has been out of full time work since last September which as you can expect put a hold on many things (including the wedding) and yes, has definitely tested us in all aspects of our life and future together. Big bummer but thanks to God we’ve witnessed many blessing since then. We started an e-commerce business, Wisemark Distributions (using his and our awesome business partner Andrew’s previous technology experience).  With him no longer committed to working a 9-5, he’s been able to devote 150% of his time to really jump start our online stores.  Business is slowly but surely picking up and we’re staying positive this opportunity only leads us to better and brighter things in the future!

Our three main online stores are My Salon Tools, Scrubbing In, and School of Uniforms.  I”m hoping soon we’ll launch one more directly tied to the “ocean side” bride theme and create an online store for beach wedding decor and favors! What do you think?

So now that things have settled with our decision to postpone our wedding and re-focus our energy on continuing to build our relationship stronger with each other, with God and our families, as well as move forward with our new business venture together, hopefully I’ll be able to get back in the blogging groove on Oceanside Bride and offer more great tips, tricks, and wedding details for the beach bride!

Oh and great news- my sister got engaged over Christmas so our family is still planning a “backyard wedding” for this November at a cabin in the mountains of Helen, Georgia! Maybe I should talk her into starting a “backyard wedding” blog! =)

Simply Bloom

So we were suppose to be driving up to Atlanta this weekend (we live in Florida) to take our engagement photos with an old high school friend of mine.  Got hit with twowammies this week- one, we  had to put one of our cars in the shop this week which cost us a hefty amount to fix and two, I found out there’s a chance of rain (which means cloudy skies even if it doesn’t). So totally bummed about not being able to take them.  I guess this gives me time to continue to find more inspiration for our pictures we’ve rescheduled for the end of August…like the pictures above from Simply Bloom! Oh and maybe this gives me time to find shoes like hers too! Gotta look at the positive side of things right?!
