So social networking can be both good and bad depending on how “plugged in” you are all the time. I’m guilty of being obsessed with wedding blogs, Brides.com, The Knot and definitely so with Weddingbook on Facebook! OMG- I love reading about the daily planning updates, gripes and drama, celebrations, seeing pictures of DIY projects, etc. from all the girls on Weddingbook from all across the country!

Well another great thing about it is the great network of support you get from everyone. People like Paige from Red Rose Designs, started out using her creative gift and started creating monogram designs and such for Weddingbook brides and would even offer her services for free! Well talented Paige got so many requests that she was able to successfully launch her own Monogram & Save the Date design company!  Her prices are very affordable and if you read the testimonials you can tell she’s great to work !  Paige will be taking a shot at our monogram design over the weekend and I can’t wait to see it next week!  For now, take a look at some of her other creations….

Okay so clearly Vegas is smack dab in the middle of DESERT and would not really be the place for an oceanside bride, however there are plenty-o-gorgeous pools that one might consider using for a poolside wedding bash! Vegas is getting ready to host many 09/09/09 wedding this year.  They’ve seen 07/07/07 and 08/08/08 come and go and have yet another date to prepare for. Hotels like the Venetian, Mandalay Bay, and Bellagio have set wedding package prices ranging from $1000-5000, most including music, flowers, ceremony officiant, a room for the bride & groom, and some even include photography!  I’ve already come to my wedding planning point where I just want to run off to Vegas and get married NOW, but when I’ve joked with the mom’s a few times about it I get the mean face. Ha ha! That’s expected and no we won’t do that.  It’s important we include all our friends and family in the celebration.  But for those thinking about it, check out Destination Weddings & Honeymoons for more info!

My step-sister is another oceanside bride and is getting married this September in Seagrove Beach, Florida.  They’ve rented a house right on the beach and will actually have an evening ceremony on the lawn.  I’m sure the setting will be amazing!  Well I got her invitation today…a Message in a Bottle! While flipping through an I Do for Brides magazine months ago in search for cool things for my own wedding, I came across this unique wedding invitation idea and thought it would be fitting for her beachside wedding!  She purchased them through Invitations In A Bottle. You can either have them print the invitations for you or of course for the DIY brides, there is also the print-at-home option!  It’s such a cute invitation!

Inspiration Board by 100 Layer Cake

One of my favorite wedding blogs is 100 Layer Cake.  They have awesome inspiration boards and this was one of my favs!  I came across it a few months back when I started pinning down my wedding colors.  Still haven’t decided 100% what they’ll be but I love Terracota and Seafoam together!

Destination Weddings & Honeymoons Magazine

Wow- so all this time (well for the past 6 months I’ve been engaged), I’ve somehow missed the fact there is a fantastic magazine out there JUST FOR US! Destinations Weddings & Honeymoons shares tons of ideas about well…destination weddings and honeymoons!  As soon as I saw this on Classic Bride’s blog (she was featured!), I immediately bought a subscription.  I’ve already read the first issue (I ordered the digital copy since I’m inpatient!).  It features plenty of locations ideas, resort options, and of course since it has plenty of pics, I think I’ll be able to get some great ideas for outside decorating.  Super excited about this find!

Since I’m planning a California wedding from Florida, I’m planning my first trip out there mid-July to check out venues, vendors, and more!  Thanks to my lovely cousin Christen for mailing me a Brides Southern California magazine, because I just found out that I’ll be there when the Brides World, a bridal expo will be in town (July 11-12)! I registered early online so I’ll get a $2 discount off my entrance fee at the door for me and my family who tags along! Got to save all the money I can! Two dollars will go a long way! This is exciting because I have NO clue about any of the local vendors as far as flowers, music, caterers, bakeries, etc. go, so hopefully I’ll take away a ton of ideas!
