I love more modern save the date and wedding invitations.  The paper and envelopes for my own save the dates should be arriving today so guess what I’ll be working on this weekend??  I can’t wait!  Almost 85% of our guests will be coming from all over the country to celebrate with us so I’ve been anxious to get them out in the mail. I want to give everyone as much notice as possible to save and plan for our July wedding in California next  year.  I won’t be posting my save the dates until they are in the hands of our guests, but here is a modern-vintage save the date and rehearsal invite I found in Jamie Konet’s Etsy Shop that I love!  Check her out.

STEAPLE MONOGRAM1

STEAPLE MONOGRAM2

How fabulous are these monograms! Paige from Red Rose Designs delivered as promised with a quick turnaround and just simply PERFECT design to go with our colors and the “modern-vintage” look I’m going for!  I also asked her to try to incorporate the infinity symbol into one of the designs and she did!  These will be perfect for our invitation suite and other wedding decor.  I’m super excited Paige was able to work on our monograms for us.  I’ve been following her on Facebook since she started her new business and love to keep up with her most recent work, promotions, and progress.  Become a fan!

So social networking can be both good and bad depending on how “plugged in” you are all the time. I’m guilty of being obsessed with wedding blogs, Brides.com, The Knot and definitely so with Weddingbook on Facebook! OMG- I love reading about the daily planning updates, gripes and drama, celebrations, seeing pictures of DIY projects, etc. from all the girls on Weddingbook from all across the country!

Well another great thing about it is the great network of support you get from everyone. People like Paige from Red Rose Designs, started out using her creative gift and started creating monogram designs and such for Weddingbook brides and would even offer her services for free! Well talented Paige got so many requests that she was able to successfully launch her own Monogram & Save the Date design company!  Her prices are very affordable and if you read the testimonials you can tell she’s great to work !  Paige will be taking a shot at our monogram design over the weekend and I can’t wait to see it next week!  For now, take a look at some of her other creations….

Postcards2

Postcards

So I honestly don’t know why or how I fell in love with vintage everything as I started planning this wedding.  I think vintage = a fresh and classic look.  And there’s so much one can do!  I found these great postcards on Heather Bullard’s site and think these would make great DIY save the date announcements or part of your invitation suite printing a map or hotel accommodations on the back. I think I’m really going to try something like this soon with my own Save-the-Dates so if I do, I’ll post pics.

Anyone else incorporating a vintage “theme” or feel into your wedding?

Maine Invite Suite

Found this cute seaside invitation suite designed by Courtney of Flush Designs. It features the state of Maine and the lobster “accent”, giving the invitation personality! Check out more of Courtney’s work on her blog and to read more about where she got her inspiration from for this invitation suite!

I came across these fabric invitations on Elizabeth Anne Designs blog and fell in love! Super creative and looks really easy to do.   Designed by Merriment Designs, these cute invitations use your favorite fabric which is sewn to the back of your invitation.  Loosely sewn half flowers and leaves cut from the fabric are sewn on front.  Check out the step-by-step tutorial on Merriment Designs to create your own fabric sewn invitation!  My head is spinning because I have so many great invitation ideas to choose from now!

Since we’re having a destination wedding, I’ve started looking for Save-the-Date ideas and naturally coming across some really great invitation ideas too!  I think I’m falling in love with the booklet-style wedding invitation format.  This one caught my eye! I wonder if somehow I can make this a DIY project.  Ryan Masuga, who created this wedding booklet for his wedding, did it on his own, but it sounds like he has graphic design skills which I know nothing about!  I had to share this invitation though….such a creative and unique idea!

My step-sister is another oceanside bride and is getting married this September in Seagrove Beach, Florida.  They’ve rented a house right on the beach and will actually have an evening ceremony on the lawn.  I’m sure the setting will be amazing!  Well I got her invitation today…a Message in a Bottle! While flipping through an I Do for Brides magazine months ago in search for cool things for my own wedding, I came across this unique wedding invitation idea and thought it would be fitting for her beachside wedding!  She purchased them through Invitations In A Bottle. You can either have them print the invitations for you or of course for the DIY brides, there is also the print-at-home option!  It’s such a cute invitation!
