Teal, Grey, Peach, Gold

An inspiration board I whipped up really quickly right before my trip to California (which makes me guilty of not being able to give credit to anyone for the pics- please, please, please let me know if these are yours and I will update the photo credit asap!). I was asking my cousin, Katrina to be my Maid-of-Honor while I was there (she lives there) and I wanted to show her the color scheme I was shooting for.  I think I might go for a champagne color for our mothers’ dresses, but I’m still having an internal battle with myself (they are the worse!) on which color I like more for a bridesmaid dress, “oasis” blue or terracotta?

Any suggestions?

Craigslist Bride

Why didn’t I think of this!? I just had to share this cool story…An OC bride barters for her wedding on Craigslist! Genius. Well Kerry Coryell does have a far more interesting story than I do. She’s been postponing her wedding for almost 10 years taking care of her paralyzed mother who eventually passed away. Since then life has happened (as it does to all of us) and so Kerry has been waiting for her “dream” wedding to come true. So after pursuing some Cabo wedding pictures a friend sent her, she decided to quit waiting around and turn her dream into reality. Not having much money, she placed an add offering services to house clean, babysit, cut the grass, etc. for the service of wedding vendors.  She’s seen amazing generosity come alive with many vendors contacting her within days of her post and offering her free service!  Kerry is now on her way to having her dream wedding happen.  It’s good to know there really are good people still out there in this crazy world! Read the rest of her story here….

Beachy Wedding Inspiration

So I’m not sure how I missed this site, but I came across it yesterday while surfing other wedding blogs in between vendor appointments (Yes…I’m obsessed with the internet). The Perfect Palette features nothing but color inspiration!  Every color combination you can think of has already been put together nicely in the form of an inspiration board so you can visualize your favorite wedding colors better!  Here’s a beach theme palette I found on her site.

First row: Martha Stewart, Orchard Cove via Style Me Pretty, Martha Stewart; Second Row: Whipped Bakeshop via Oh Joy, Better Homes and Gardens, Green Wedding Shoes; Third Row: A Cup of Jo, Google Images, Suzann’s Shop via Etsy

So in celebration of Independence Day, here’s just a little inspiration board I created for anyone thinking of having a themed 4th of July wedding, reception dinner, or maybe just a good old fashion BBQ with friends and family!  Make sure to do something fun!

Turquoise & Gold

Ring Pillow: 5eizen via Etsy, Cake: The Knot, Gold Hairpins: Erica Cavanagh via Etsy, Invitation: Ruby & Williow via Etsy, Gold Compass: 5 Dollar French Market via Etsy, Flower Centerpiece: Unknown

So here’s my 2nd attempt at an inspiration board.  Slightly opposite of the last one, this would incorporate bolder colors like turquoise and gold.  I like the combo because this is a little “unlike” me but still incorporates two of my favorite colors.  I have a little harder time at piecing the MOH & MOB attires in my head when I see this one though so I’m still not sure if this will be my color scheme.  Still working on one more board…we’ll see if I can get it right soon! I still have some time I guess.

Simply Classic

Credits: From left to right- Sugar Love Weddings Photography via Classic Bride, Unknown, Unknown, Wedding Book Post via Facebook, Etsy Invitations (Unfortunately I started saving these pictures before I realized I’d be posting these and I’d like to give credit where credits due so if these pictures belong to you or you know where they are from, please let me know!)

Okay, so you probably can tell I’m in love with inspiration boards! It’s mostly because I haven’t yet decided on my colors so they’ve helped tremendously! So far, I’ve been able to take away bits and pieces but nothing yet was the “perfect” palette for me. Sooooo….I took some time this weekend and took a shot at making my own! Again, I’m still undecided but I think this comes a little closer to what I’m going for. I’d still like to incorporate a color that “pops” so I’m sure you’ll be seeing a few more boards soon from me! I absolutely LOVE the bridesmaid dresses in this pic! I love this classic, “antique” feel this palette creates!

Elizabeth Ann Designs Inspiration Board

Elizabeth Ann Designs Inspiration Board

I’d like to narrow down my wedding colors soon and have been on the hunt for some inspiration. I headed over to Elizabeth Ann Designs since she always creates awesome inspiration boards! I love these colors in this board and picture big, splashing waves just over those sand hills. I absolutely LOVE the parasol idea and think I will definitely incorporate it somehow into the wedding or engagement photos.  I just thought I would share this board because it just looks really “refreshing” with the blue skies and pitcher of something cold to drink! A must have for a summer wedding!

Inspiration Board by 100 Layer Cake

Inspiration Board by 100 Layer Cake

One of my favorite wedding blogs is 100 Layer Cake.  They have awesome inspiration boards and this was one of my favs!  I came across it a few months back when I started pinning down my wedding colors.  Still haven’t decided 100% what they’ll be but I love Terracota and Seafoam together!

Destination Weddings & Honeymoons Magazine

Wow- so all this time (well for the past 6 months I’ve been engaged), I’ve somehow missed the fact there is a fantastic magazine out there JUST FOR US! Destinations Weddings & Honeymoons shares tons of ideas about well…destination weddings and honeymoons!  As soon as I saw this on Classic Bride’s blog (she was featured!), I immediately bought a subscription.  I’ve already read the first issue (I ordered the digital copy since I’m inpatient!).  It features plenty of locations ideas, resort options, and of course since it has plenty of pics, I think I’ll be able to get some great ideas for outside decorating.  Super excited about this find!
