If you’re planning a wedding that may require some of your closest friends and family to travel a good distance to your destination, why not make them feel special by welcoming them with a welcome bag, tote, or basket? It’s a simple little gesture that will show your love and appreciation for them coming to share in this memorable event with you and your husband-to-be.
I found this great collage of wedding welcome bags and baskets that I thought might give you inspiration to create your own unique and fun welcome basket that your guests will love.

You can use almost anything for your bag such as a crafty and cute paper gift bag, boat shaped weaved baskets, or big beach totes that they can throw over their shoulder and head straight to the beach to catch some sun before the big event!
What are some items you might include? Anything! Sky’s the limit, but your welcome bag for a beach wedding may include….water bottles (customize the label with a picture of you and your beau for a personal touch!), sunscreen, beach towel, a local map, and a few of your favorite fruits, cookies or candies that your guests can enjoy for the weekend! For those of you who happen to be in the New York area, you could always order pre-packaged or customized gift bags from Sara’s Gracious Goodies, who provides savvy gift packaging expertise and best of all delivery to your hotel location the day of your guests arrival!
Did you or are you planning to put together an Out-of-Town Bag as part of your wedding weekend? We’d love to see your pics and hear about what you included in them!
Having a beach wedding and worried about your guests getting sunburned or cold at night? How about leaving shawls for the women like one of Pacific Bride Guide’s girls did….

or leaving little sunscreen bottle favors in your guests welcome baskets…

My mom is AWESOME and did a lot of DIY projects for my step-sister. I’m looking forward to her helping me with some of my own for our wedding next July! Here were some things that were put together:
Fans for the beach ceremony were tied with green ribbon

Sand & seashell centerpieces

Handmade scented candles for favors

My mom also ordered several items such as table linen, tiki torches, candles, and other decor from Oriental Trading for the “Welcome Luau” held the night before the wedding.

So I honestly don’t know why or how I fell in love with vintage everything as I started planning this wedding. I think vintage = a fresh and classic look. And there’s so much one can do! I found these great postcards on Heather Bullard’s site and think these would make great DIY save the date announcements or part of your invitation suite printing a map or hotel accommodations on the back. I think I’m really going to try something like this soon with my own Save-the-Dates so if I do, I’ll post pics.
Anyone else incorporating a vintage “theme” or feel into your wedding?

If you haven’t checked out the contest 100 Layer Cake (partnering with Miniature Rhino) kicked off earlier this week, you should! Whoever comes up with the most creative idea on how to incorporate Miniature Rhino’s handstitched piece into their wedding- wins! I’ve already made my post…so don’t forget to add yours. They’ll be announcing the winner on Monday so you still have time to enter! This would be so great to hang up in your home after the big day! Miniature Rhino also has some other cool handcrafted items for sale on Etsy so definitely visit her shop.

I recently subscribed to Amy Moss’s Eat.Drink.Chic blog and I’m so glad I did! She recently featured a homemade bubble bath along with instructions and free vintage-styled labels to complete your own crafty project! It was featured as a Bridesmaid gift and can see using it for party favors, wedding favors, or gifts for any occassion!

So many of us will be putting together out-of-town guest gift bags introducing our family & friends to the city, local venues, restaurants, and other “things to do” locations. Why not stick a little Black Book City Guide in their bag from Beau Coup! These super cute and fun books are ready to go for the cities of New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Miami with a sixth one called Jet Set covering info on LA, NYC, and Paris.

Another super cute idea…this time for a Bridesmaid gift if having a destination wedding. How appropriate are these cute little suitcases packed with all the essential bridesmaid “survival” items for your wedding day!? Style Me Pretty featured these DIY Bridesmaid and I thought these were sooo adorable and had to share. Fill them up with needle & thread, gloss, perfume, tissues, or whatever else you think one of your best girlfriends might need to get you or themselves out of a wardrobe or other beauty malfunction on your day!

What a freakin’ cool idea for groomsmen gifts. Green Wedding Shoes featured photography by Michele M. Waite who captured photos of a couple who married in Florida. As a gift to the groomsmen, they gave custom-made surfboards on wheels (or skateboards)! A perfect gift for the destination wedding party! Love it!
