Okay yeah, yeah so I’m still on a “green” kick although St. Patty’s day is now behind us. I just love the kelly green used in this wedding though! And eh-hem…you know I’m loving the baby’s breath bouquets right? Well Caroline & Evan Photography were there to capture all the fun our super adorable couple, Kelly & Ben, had on their big day. They actually married on Friday the 13th (of January) in Tierra Verde, Florida. But oh so lucky in love- the superstitious date of course didn’t worry them one bit. ;)
More details from Caroline Smith, Photographer: Kelly & Ben had a beautiful and earthy wedding. The organic inspired decor was perfect for this venue, which sits on the edge of Tampa Bay. From the burlap table runners to the mason jar centerpieces, it had a very warm feel that was welcoming to all the guests. And being the fun couple that they are, there was also an underlying theme- mustaches! Each guest was given their own stick on mustache and all the bridal party had their own as well. It was a ton of fun watching everyone in the reception play with their new accessories. One of my other favorite personal touches Kelly & Ben included was their officiant, Judge Stoddard, who is one of Ben’s law professors at Stetson. I love when a bride and groom have someone they know marry them. I think it makes the experience so much more meaningful.

On the eve of St. Patty’s day, I couldn’t help but share not one but two lovely weddings with a little green flare. =)
First up, we have Krista & Chris who married last fall at a beautiful plantation home, The Island House, in Johns Island, South Carolina right outside of Charleston. The house sits on a private island on the banks of the Stono River so couples and guests still get a little piece of the LowCountry. So excited Chi Photography of Charleston was there to capture all the gorgeousness of the day!

How you met: According to the best man’s speech, Chris walked up to me in a bar and said “Ay, girl! You vibin me?!”….. true story, but there’s a little more to it than that! We met through mutual friends, he made me laugh, added me on facebook (because isn’t that how it works these days?!)the rest is history!
Unforgettable wedding moment: It was SO windy and my veil flew off twice as I was walking down the aisle to Chris. Once they pronounced us husband and wife and we started to walk back down together it flew off again and I just yelled “Ah, screw it!” and kept walking!
Most valuable piece of advice: On the day of the wedding just relax, take it all in, and enjoy yourself. I promised myself that I wouldn’t stress about everything being perfect, get upset if something went wrong, etc. because those weren’t the memories that I wanted to have. Iit will be perfect just for the simple fact that you’re marrying your best friend!
Quirkiest detail: Our reception entrance – we’re huge Carolina fans and our wedding was on game day, so we had our wedding party enter to Sandstorm then it faded into 2001 when Chris and I entered.
Thriftiest trick: We did a lot of the “little details” ourselves, but the one that I’m most proud of was the cake box. My step-dad built a box out of wood that he already had. Then, my mom and I wrapped it in a table cloth (that coordinated with the cake and our runners) wrapped a ribbon around it, and hot glued a pendant to it. I saw these boxes online for we spent about $15!
Something old: My grandmother’s handkerchief
Something new: Dress & accessories
Something borrowed: The lace on my garter
Something blue: My garter had a blue flower on it
Wedding details: It was an evening wedding at a plantation house on the water in the fall. Everything from the location and food to the sweetgrass boutonnieres reflected the theme “southern elegance.” Our colors were chocolate brown and apple green and we had about 150 guests in attendance.
This wedding from Justine Johnson Photography was perfectly simple and sweet with the day shared only with close family. Judy & Paul chose to head to Maine to take their vows in a beach wedding ceremony on Ferry Beach. I love how they played on the lobster theme of Maine. The cake- so cute!
In Justine’s words: Judy & Paul traveled to Saco, Maine, from their home in Vermont to get married. I thought it was super sweet that they decided to only have their kids and grandkids present… it made the whole celebration extremely personal and intimate. They had a small, simple ceremony on Ferry Beach and then headed back to their vacation home down the road to have a delicious brunch of homemade omelettes, bacon, and fruit salad.

Happy Friday everyone! Soooo…I actually considered taking a day-after session after our wedding but later thought against it thinking we wouldn’t have time. I was probably right looking back now, but if a couple can steal a few hours in their day after the wedding day madness calms, I say do it!
That’s exactly what Terre Anne & Mat did the day after their super intimate wedding in Waimea, Hawaii. Big Island photographer, Karen Loudon from Karen Loudon Photography had the chance to have a session with this sweet couple at the adorable church,Ke Ola Mau Loa also known as “The Green Church”, where their ceremony took place as well as took a few gorgeous sunset shots of them along the Hawaiian beaches.

I adore this intimate wedding story of the happy couple- as told by the bride, Terre Anne: We met in 2008 in Kailua, Oahu at a coffee shop (we are both coffee fanatics). I was studying for finals and Mat was having lunch. He proposed on Christmas Day 2009 first thing in the morning. It was the best Christmas present ever! Mat had my ring made in Germany and he did not expect it to arrive so soon. But because it had, he thought Christmas would be perfect and I agreed! We loved living in Oahu – we enjoyed hiking, our first date was a hike at north shore. He is a skin diver and I like to snorkel so we would go to the ocean as much as possible. We decided to move to the mainland because we thought it would be best for a growing family. We’ve settled in Austin, TX. Now we have a 4 bedroom house we can’t wait to fill the rooms with children. Initially we thought our Hawaii vacation was just going to be that, but we could no longer wait – we really wanted to get married. A big fancy wedding was not important to us. On a trip to my hometown (NYC) in July, we managed to get custom made wedding rings done within days so we decided to look for a small chapel in Hawaii where we could say our vows . My brother was there for our proposal so it was just right that he was able to fly in for our wedding. He gave me away, he was the best man, the photographer, the witness, he was everything. I saw the church just in photos in the internet and Rev. Terminello called me back right away about the ceremony. We only had a few weeks to plan this. Once we got there the church was even more beautiful in person than in the photos. The ceremony started and ended with Hawaiian blessings. Our ceremony was simple, sweet, and beautiful. It just felt natural. Even my bouquet was picked from a plumeria tree that morning. The submitted photos were taken by Karen Loudon the day after the wedding, we went back to the church in Waimea where the ceremony took place and then went to Hapuna beach for some sunset photos.
