A Green & Brown Seaside Florida Wedding

Okay yeah, yeah so I’m still on a “green” kick although St. Patty’s day is now behind us. I just love the kelly green used in this wedding though! And eh-hem…you know I’m loving the baby’s breath bouquets right? Well Caroline & Evan Photography were there to capture all the fun our super adorable couple, Kelly & Ben, had on their big day. They actually married on Friday the 13th (of January) in Tierra Verde, Florida. But oh so lucky in love- the superstitious date of course didn’t worry them one bit. ;)

More details from Caroline Smith, Photographer: Kelly & Ben had a beautiful and earthy wedding. The organic inspired decor was perfect for this venue, which sits on the edge of Tampa Bay. From the burlap table runners to the mason jar centerpieces, it had a very warm feel that was welcoming to all the guests. And being the fun couple that they are, there was also an underlying theme- mustaches! Each guest was given their own stick on mustache and all the bridal party had their own as well. It was a ton of fun watching everyone in the reception play with their new accessories. One of my other favorite personal touches Kelly & Ben included was their officiant, Judge Stoddard, who is one of Ben’s law professors at Stetson. I love when a bride and groom have someone they know marry them. I think it makes the experience so much more meaningful.

A Santa Rosa Beach Wedding

I’m back! I know it got a little quiet around here after I decided to take a last minute blog-cation last week (and yesterday). Although I had some gorgeous real wedding features locked and loaded it got a little since we went out of town to visit family.  The week was jam packed as we celebrated my hubby’s birthday, our nephew’s 1st birthday, finished making my sister’s save the dates magnets and then helped her and mom package them up pretty to be shipped out to her guests today! Phew- a busy week it was but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. There’s nothing like waking up in my ma’s house for a week and spending two wonderful weekends with family.

But now that we’re back in Florida, it couldn’t be more fitting that I have not just one Florida wedding feature for you today, but TWO! Sooo that’s a hint to come back this afternoon for more Florida beach wedding action. ;)

First up comes from Kay Meyer Photography with Joslyne & Wes’s spring time wedding. Their big day was held in the sweet little beach town of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. My step-sister got married there two years ago and it’s such a perfect and quaint little place to get married. If you need a little more action though while visiting or entertaining guests, Panama City is about a 40 minute drive away with Destin only being about 30. But the area is not too crowded and you’ll find the most adorable beach homes for rent- perfect for an intimate family gathering.

Joslyne and Wes carried out a sweet bird theme throughout their day and later danced the night away poolside at their night time reception. Oh and just so you know- I’m drooling over their cake!

Feeling Lucky? A little St. Patty’s Day Inspiration

I’m not Irish, but kiss me anyway! (Or maybe not my fiancé might have a problem with that). Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all you lovely ladies. Here’s a little green and yellow inspiration to go with your green beer today!

Color Palette: Gold, Seafoam Blue, Green and Orange

After seeing the strikingly beautiful photo (top left), I challenged myself to come up with an inspiration board using this photo for you lovely ladies.  I surprised myself how the colors gold, seafoam blue, green and orange actually came together so easily and amazingly well.  These colors remind me of a casual chic lakeside wedding, blending in the colors of nature all around.

I would image it would take little decor (a budget saver) since the trees, natural flowers, and streaming water would be enough to create a breathtaking scenary for you and your guests.  Although the pops of orange and green are often seen used for fall weddings, with the softer creams, golds, and blue hues, I can still picture this to be a perfect palette for a spring time, April or May wedding as well.

What do you ladies think of these colors together?
