White Hot Style Shop: A BRIDES event!

Ladies- Happy Thursday! How’s everyone feeling today? We’re in the home stretch to the weekend so power on. We can make it! =)

So anywho, who else is excited about all the fab bridal shows and expos popping up around this time of year? One in particular was brought to my attention that I thought I’d share with all my northeastern brides, specifically those in the NYC area.

BRIDES White Hot Style Shop starts two weeks from today and it sounds like so much fun! They will have experts pampering you with hairstyle trials, makeovers, wedding cake tasting, and yummy cocktails. They’ll also have the latest bridal jewelry and fashions, wedding invitations, favor ideas, flower and other decor inspiration for you to peruse.

Wish I lived closer so I could check it out myself. Anyway- check it out and send me the recaps if you attend!

Bridesmaids & Groomsmen Gifts- A little Liquid Courage

Give a little Liquid Courage to your bridesmaids and groomsmen as a thank you gift for being a part of your wedding party! Okay, we really hope that no one in the wedding party, groom and bride especially, get completely chocolate or [insert your choice of beverage] wasted before or during your wedding, but nothing wrong with having a little fun the night of the bachelorette or bachelor party right?

Etsy shop, Liquid Courage, has such fun designs and styles of flasks that you can personalize with bridesmaids and groomsmen names or even your own personal photos!

I think these make great gift ideas for party favors or ANY celebration- think shower gifts, bachelor gifts, anniversary, birthday, father’s day, you name it!

DIY Tissue Pom Pom Tutorial

Tissue pom poms anyone? I made big green and yellow poms about a year ago for my sister’s “Never Land” couple’s shower and everyone loved them! They add so much fun to any event with very little supplies and effort.

If you ever wondered how to make these adorable tissue poms you’ve seen around the web, you can now find a DIY video tutorial on the lovely Pizzazzerie‘s blog. Jacin from Lovely Little Details shares a step-by-step guide so you can create these pretty paper details yourself!

Another bonus for all you brides in the San Francisco area? Craft your poms with Jacin herself at her new wedding planning workshop called Save the Date – scheduled for October 12th! I soooo wish I lived close by because I’d be there!

Don’t the poms look amazing hanging from the deck and blowing in the wind? They added the perfect pop of color to our tequila tasting decor! The Sea of Cortez and mountains in the background make it all breathtaking. =)

Don’t forget to check out the DIY tutorial on Pizzazzerie’s blog ladies!

Ocean Isle Beach Wedding from Sky Cheshure

Yay! The weekend is upon us and I am definitely looking forward to it!

Although I have to work tomorrow conducting a research focus group with teens in the Orlando area (I think it will be fun!), we’re making the most of a work-paid trip and heading down early for a fun date night out at Downtown Disney! Although I’ve been a million times, I’m still looking forward to heading down there with my hubby so we can do something a little “different”.  A little change of scenery is always good!  Yes, we just got back from Cabo in August but we’re already feeling like we’re stuck here in our smaller town of Gainesville with the same routine every day. I think after being here 3 years away from our ALL of our amazing family and friends and then spending so much semi-quality time with them at the wedding (as much as a bride and groom can days leading up to a wedding- haha), the homesick is starting to get to us a little bit more lately.

But we like to call this living situation temporary. Even if temporary is 3 years, 5 years, or more, we know that we definitely won’t be here forever. =)

So again I am just really, really looking forward to enjoying a great night out with my man! {Oh and the fur child went with his grandparents over the weekend, so we really feel “free”! LOL)

Moving on, I’ve had some pretty photos from Sky Cheshure Photography in my box for quite some time and thought this fab Friday would be a great time to share. Since the bride, Terri of Audacious Photography and groom, Robert of Trawick Images are photographers themselves, it was a no brainer they would have one of the best in the industry to capture all the precious moments of their wedding day. Love Sky! The wedding took place at the Winds Resort on Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina.

I love the idea of using a few tall bamboo sticks with ribbon or streamers tied at the top to create a great beach “alter” for the ceremony. I would imagine it to be fairly simple to do too!
