Thursday Tips: Away From Home? Webcast Your Wedding!

No matter where you get married, in your home town or plan a destination wedding out of the country, there will be some friends and family members who won’t be able to attend. Life gets in the way, vacation or holiday requests get denied, or due to the distance one may have to travel, it just may be too expensive.

Bummed that Grandma Mary can no longer travel or that your old college roommate is in her last trimester and too close to delivering her little one and won’t be able to make it? But you all know that under normal circumstances they would have never missed your wedding for the world?

Well…nothing replaces the sentimental moments witnessed during the exchange of vows on the big day which is why more and more couples are choosing to webcast their wedding LIVE over the internet to their friends and family across the country or heck across the world for all to see! More destination hot spots, videographers, and resorts are becoming better equipped in this department to deliver live weddings around the world.

Although not too expensive if you pre-budget this in (can range from $250-800), we did not plan for something like this so unfortunately will not be streaming our wedding live. I’ve heard great reviews from other destination brides who’s guests really felt like they were part of the day by being able to watch it live. Based on the webcast set-up, some couples are even able to speak with their distant guests via webcam after the ceremony! Pretty cool, huh?

So where can you find these webcasters to get something like this set up? Here’s a list of a few wedding webcast services from around the globe to get you started:

That’s a great idea! Like you said, even non-destination wedding couples have friends and family members who can’t make it, so what a treat for them to be a part that way! I posted my tip at the VERY end of the day, and it wasn’t even the tip that I planned to share, but… it was just one of those weeks!

Thanks for the suggestions! I’m getting married in May and have ailing grandparents in Alaska and Guatemala who cannot attend but really want to watch!
