Ahhhh at last it’s Friday and mother’s day is this weekend! =)  We’re headed back up to Atlanta (yes we were just there last weekend!) to spend it with our mom’s and although we’re still recouping from last weekend’s trip up there, it will be great to be with them since we’ve missed the last two mother’s days since living in Florida.

So got any fun plans with your mom or as a mommy?

Well…and of course to send us off into the weekend I have some Friday Follow love. There were so many amazing things I saw around the blogsphere this week!

  • Some serious custom invitation talent going on over Ashley Brooke Designs who created a Mexico-inspired bachelorette invite for her sis!
  • The Knotty Bride featured a wedding with a GENIUS dessert bar idea! A monkey bar meets ladder set-up you don’t want to miss!
  • And this wayyy cool and colorful wedding featured on Cap Classique was jaw-dropping…I really couldn’t get enough of the details.

AND if you missed it earlier this week the very talented Candice Benjamin is giving TWO free wedding photography packages to TWO awesome couples while she’s in Hawaii this July! Runner-ups won’t be left out and will still receive an 1-1.5 hour session with CB (yes, I just nicknamed you Candice- hope you don’t mind! haha) sooooo what are you waiting for? Check out the contest and SUPER duper easy entry details by going here. Finalists will be announced at the end of the month!

Next week I’ll be back on my game. Just been an exhausting week and admittedly slacked a little this week. Soooo that means TONS of real destination wedding features and engagement sessions coming up next week!!

Enjoy your weekend with your loved ones and hope you do something fun!

Peace out! – Mel

Thursday Tips: Away From Home? Webcast Your Wedding!

No matter where you get married, in your home town or plan a destination wedding out of the country, there will be some friends and family members who won’t be able to attend. Life gets in the way, vacation or holiday requests get denied, or due to the distance one may have to travel, it just may be too expensive.

Bummed that Grandma Mary can no longer travel or that your old college roommate is in her last trimester and too close to delivering her little one and won’t be able to make it? But you all know that under normal circumstances they would have never missed your wedding for the world?

Well…nothing replaces the sentimental moments witnessed during the exchange of vows on the big day which is why more and more couples are choosing to webcast their wedding LIVE over the internet to their friends and family across the country or heck across the world for all to see! More destination hot spots, videographers, and resorts are becoming better equipped in this department to deliver live weddings around the world.

Although not too expensive if you pre-budget this in (can range from $250-800), we did not plan for something like this so unfortunately will not be streaming our wedding live. I’ve heard great reviews from other destination brides who’s guests really felt like they were part of the day by being able to watch it live. Based on the webcast set-up, some couples are even able to speak with their distant guests via webcam after the ceremony! Pretty cool, huh?

So where can you find these webcasters to get something like this set up? Here’s a list of a few wedding webcast services from around the globe to get you started:

OH! And I must give a shout out to the beautiful Kat from Flower & Honey for helping me with my Thursday Tip today- she probably didn’t even know that she did until now! ;)

The Digital Orange

Hello out there a little late but here is some Follow Friday link love for you.  Just some blog goodness that caught my eye throughout the week…

A fantastically romantic Bali Wedding over at Once Wed.

The Knotty Bride featured more of one of my most favorite stylized shoots I’ve ever seen from Candice Benjamin! A fabulous video from “behind the scenes” can also been seen here.

Perfect Anthropologie inspired palettes seen on Forget Me Knot Weddings.

You’ll LOVE these yummy artistically designed cupcakes on Emmaline Bride (but I think you’ll agree they look too pretty to eat!)

And earlier this week I instantly started drooling over this strawberry goodness shot by Brancoprata.

Happy Weekend and I’ll see you back here on Monday!

As I say farewell for the weekend, I leave you with some things that made me smile throughout the week:

Some of my favorite things {Lace, Blue, & Pink} was seen on LaBelle Bride!

A pretty Vintage Tea Cup Cake on Love and Lavender.

Although snow is not always my cup of tea, OMG I’m Getting Married featured a pretty little snow fest filled engagement session that I had to share.

Ever wonder what it’s like in New Zealand? Check out the interview I did with Steph & Robin from Bubblerock Studios with photos & video included!

And since my head has been in the clouds over San Diego today, Utterly Engaged gave a call to all the San Diego brides early this week so don’t forget to print your ticket here for two and head over to The Wedding Bridal Party Show at the Hard Rock Hotel this weekend!

Also please continue to support Utterly Engaged and Ever-Ours in their For Japan With Love campaign.  Every little bit counts.

Oh and don’t forget Round 2 of the Inspiration Board March Madness contest has been posted! Yours truly has made it through to Round 2 so please go and vote for your favorite! What you need to do: “Like” the Events by Sarah Elizabeth page and  then “like” the Cotton Candy Ocean board (or should you have another fav- go ahead and vote for theirs too)!  The second round ends Tuesday, 3/29.

I have a Mel’s Monday Mind Maintenance in the works for well…you guessed it, ON MONDAY! See you then ladies and have a great weekend!
